I love it when justice is served by the victim as happened in this case …

A 33 year-old man broke into an apartment in North Phoenix on Halloween wearing a skeleton mask. He entered the property through an open kitchen window and demanded money from the occupant, who thought he was joking. 

When a gun was pulled on him by the intruder and he was told not to move or he’d be shot, the victim realised it was for real and fled the apartment to a courtyard of the complex where a Halloween party was in full swing … and that’s where the fun started.

Instead of taking what he could from the apartment, the intruder followed the victim into the courtyard and the party where he demanded money of everyone there. Striking a partygoer on the head with a gun only added fuel to the fire when the original victim returned from elsewhere armed with a baseball bat. As the intruder attempted to rob the partygoers, he was hit in the head with the bat, dropping the two guns he held and allowing the other people at the party to beat up on him with the bat and another weapon.

The intruder was able to get himself away from the complex and flee in a vehicle. He was apprehended by police and admitted to hospital with a fractured skull and severe injuries to his nose. Several of the partygoers sustained minor injuries.

It is unknown whether the partygoers will be charged with any offence.
