Tasty Trucker
17 February 2010, Tessin, Switzerland
We shall put this man’s actions down to the fact that he was tired … then again, we’re told truckers will eat most anything …
A 34 year old truck driver was stopped for speeding on a highway in Switzerland. To avoid police discovering details about his driving history, he ate the evidence.
After driving more 1000 kilometres (620 miles) over 18 hours without stopping, the truck driver reportedly ate the paper discs of his truck’s tachograph, which records speed and the time driven. As part of overall road safety requirements, tachographs are intended to ensure that truck drivers do not work overly long hours.
The driver was later admitted to hospital after suffering stomach pains and although there were no serious health problems stemming from his paper meal, he was fined for incident.
