Why?
Why We Started The Woftam Awards
We’re Ambulance Paramedics. In our job, we encounter acts of stupidity beyond belief. The term WOFTAM came to our attention because it is commonly used by one of the ‘oldtimers’ in our Service to describe stupid people who do stupid things. We know about them because they often require medical intervention to treat their injuries.
We sought to discover more about how stupid people can really be. In conversations with our colleagues and our search across the internet, we discovered that we have an epidemic on our hands! Not only are there stories on our own shores, but many widely reported across the world in the news, forums and other sites and they go on infinitum.
How Woftams Help Us
We’ll never be out of a job with Woftam’s around. They can make our life hell, they challenge our skills, our patience and our belief that intelligent lifeforms really do exist, BUT they make us smile and laugh and for this we should be thankful.
We can learn from them. Will you try some of the things you’ll read in here without thinking about these stories? We bet not! Why? Because you read it, felt the pain, laughed and learned. Job done!
What Do We Aim to Achieve By Writing This Blog
We’d like to educate the public; to show how easy it is to do something you might seriously regret. We all do something embarrassingly stupid from time to time, but when you read some of the stories contained here, you might realise that you’re probably smarter than the average stupid person!
We’d like to demonstrate how stupid people can really be (and yes, they even surprise us!) but the very bottom line is that we’d like to give you some light-hearted entertainment and have you laugh. It’s okay to laugh at them … they’ve already done it by the time the stories show up here, it can’t get any worse for them.
And maybe, just maybe, the Woftam’s themselves might learn a little too …
