A 40 year old man was left blind after being attacked by a woman with her stiletto heels.
The attack took place in August 2009 when the two were waiting in a queue for takeaway food in the city’s clubland. The man told off a couple of men who jumped the queue when a 17 year old girl jumped on to his back. He attempted to strike out at the girl but her friend came to her aid, swinging the shoes she carried at the man’s face. A shoe caught the man full in the right eye. He required emergency surgery and was left blind in both eyes as a result of the attack and an eye condition.
The girl was sentenced to an 18 month prison term.
