A 66 year old man was seen in the emergency department of Kyosai Tachikawa Hospital with a swollen, painful penis … due to it being inserted into a bottle for masturbation. The man’s penis was being strangled by the mouth of the bottle. Doctors were able to relieve the penis from the bottle with the use of an electric plaster cutter.

Despite having his penis strangled for over four hours, the man sustained no injury. He and his penis should consider themselves lucky; he risked necrosis, urethral injury, erectile disorder and other unfavorable events had the penis not been released urgently.
